Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.6

Hello,

I would like to have in the System tools menu a Wake on LAN option, to wake up my computers from there.

This would allow us to send magic packet directly from the router.

Asus RT routers have this and it's done well.

When we add a client in the list, it create automatically a DHCP reservation with the used IP and the MAC of the host.

Then the client is listed in here and if we click on the MAC it copies itself in the target area and we just need to press Wake up.

Thanks !

Hi @Swyxe

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

ASUS aims at home. It does not add up to the request. Except for the home use case where you might need it, can you list any business vendors supporting this feature?

And it makes no sense to WOL if you are not a VPN in the network. Or access the router page to wake it up.

If you are using a VPN on the local network, you can use other tools to wake it up.

Anyway, the precondition is that you have already accessed the network and you access the router page and wake it up. Same thing can be done via a WOL tool when you are connected to the network.

What would be the reason to add a third-party plug-in on the system?

@Clive_A You are right, I don't see any reason.
