ER605 Router - Port 4 and Port 5 Not Working After Omada Update 5.14.32.2
Hi,
I encountered an issue with my ER605v1 router after updating Omada to version 5.14.32.2. Ports 4 and 5 lost connection entirely right after the update. I don’t see any connection on these ports now.
I have restarted the router several times, but the issue persists. Since the router is remote, I cannot check and test the ports directly. However, the loss of LAN port functionality occurred immediately following the update. Please see the attached screenshot for more information.
Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a known solution for this issue?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Vedat

Hi @vedat
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
If you cannot be on site, I find it hard to diagnose it.
Do you have any logs for us? Filtered with information that relates to the two ports mentioned.

Look at the default interface if all the ports are enabled.
I had something similar on the ER8411 after upgrading to 5.14.?? I don't quite remember the version after 5.14, the problem was that one of the ports on vlan 1 was removed from the default lan interface. and since the default interface cannot be modified, I was also unable to enable vlan 1 on that port.
what I had to do was delete the router from controler and readopt then all ports was enabled..
default inerface looked like this and did not allow to be changed.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion.
You're right—I can't modify or remove LAN interfaces on the default LAN. Unfortunately, I'm unable to reset the router and readopt it, as I am not on site. If I reset the device, it will lose all ISP configuration, and without an internet connection, I won’t be able to remotely access the router again.

@vedat @Clive_A
Was there ever a resolution to this?
I am running:
- Software Controller 5.15.6.7 (Release Candidate)
- ER707-M2 v1.0 1.2.3 Build 20240822 Rel.52946
- SG2210MP v4.20 4.20.4 Build 20241104 Rel.40492
If I try and check "[] WAN/LAN3" for my VLAN 1 LAN Network, I get the Error: "The interface of Default LAN cannot be modified."
Thankfully I have an open LAN port I can use already, but this is not great...
Current settings:
When I try and check WAN/LAN3 for LAN Network and click Save:

yes it can be fixed in two ways,
1. delete router from controller and readopt it
2. change the interface to WAN and then remove WAN again.

@MR.S Thanks for the reply, it's good to see there is a workaround... it's unfortunate that most workarounds require nontrivial network downtime - I'll have to wait for off-hours to try this:
😭
Modify the WAN ports?
Modification of WAN Ports will reboot the gateway.

set aside an hour for the job. it has to be done twice since you have to remove WAN again to enable LAN and the router is not that quick to boot

I recall that's a legacy of your config that caused the problem so as MR.S described, these ways can fix the problem.
This reproduction requires the old config from the last version and action to update to the newer version and the router was adopted on the last version.
We have not located the reason for this and if you could provide the config backup from the last version, that may be helpful
