Model: ER707-M2
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.3 Build 20240822 Rel.52946

Hi, I just bought and configured Omada ER-707-M2 for interfacing with my company's 2.5G FTTH termination.

The IPV4 configuration went straightforward, with no issues. My Internet provider uses PPPoE on the WAN side, and the router registers to the network flawlessly; everything IPv4 works.

The REAL problem is IPV6 support.

My provider assigns me a /56 prefix (xxxx:yyyy:ba00::/56), states I should use for IPv6 the same PPoE connection as for IPV4, and manually insert xxxx:yyyy:ba00::2 as address and xxxx:yyyy:ba00::1 as Gateway. This is clear and simple but seemingly (and incredibly) not feasible on ER707-M2.

As you can see in the first of the two attached snapshots, the IPv6 configuration page does not allow you to set the gateway when using "address specified by ISP" mode!

Instead, the router decides to set the gateway to the Local Link address of the WAN port (see the status page), which cannot be modified.

I hope someone out there can help; maybe I'm missing something. Otherwise, this router with the current firmware can be trashed; it would be useless and totally inadequate as a business device.

Thank you all!

Hi @RogerMac

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

If you are using PPPoEv6 and the address is specified by the ISP, there is no option to allow you to set v6 parameters. This is expected.

We have tested this and it worked as expected and the gateway is not an issue.

If you need the option to set v6 parameters when it is under " "address specified by ISP" mode, we don't support it now.
