Hi @d0ugmac1
There could be several reasons for the delay in firmware homologation between the CA (Canada) and US versions of the EAPproducts:
1. **Regional Certification Requirements**: - Different countries and regions have their own specific regulations and certification processes for networking equipment. The US has its own set of standards and requirements such as FCC (Federal Communications Commission) regulations that need to be met before a firmware can be approved for use. Complying with these can be a time-consuming process, which may lead to a delay in the availability of the firmware in the US compared to other regions like Canada.
2. **Localization and Customization**: - The firmware may need to be customized or localized for the US market to meet specific customer requirements or to adapt to the local network infrastructure. For example, there could be differences in the frequency bands used, power regulations, or support for specific network protocols that require modifications to the firmware. This customization process can add to the time taken for homologation.
3. **Supply Chain and Distribution Factors**: - The availability of components and the supply chain logistics can also impact the firmware homologation process. If there are shortages of certain components or delays in the supply of hardware, it can affect the timely release of the firmware in a particular region. Additionally, the distribution channels and partnerships in the US may have their own schedules and processes.
Appreciate for your understanding.
