Import Failed! - The device is not in the Allow List.
Hello,
I have setup an Essential Cloud controller on the Omada Cloud-Based Controller site. When I try to do a discovery of my switch it fails when importing my device
TL-SG3428 (JetStream 24-Port Gigabit L2 Managed Switch with 4 SFP Slots) with the following error:
Import Failed! - The device is not in the Allow List.
This is when im trying to add the device to the controller via the "Add Devices" button which imports your device.
All I list in the import screen is the Serial Number of my device, and it fails. It does pickup my MAC address of the switch in the import. So something must be working? Or is this getting the info from the TP Link Database somewhere?
On my switch, I have the enable - Cloud-Based Controller Management and ticked the terms of use.
Also entered the Controller Inform URL as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

@Clive_A im not using an import template.
Im using the method - Manually Add option. The one above Import.
Using this link - https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3387/ and I get stuck at here:
After pressing Confirm, it fails like this:
CBC has explicitly listed the devices that can be used with the CBC.
Is your model listed?

Hi @InterM007
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
What's your import template like?
Simply typing the SN should add that. Have you tested if manually adding one of the devices works?
Think this should be answering it:

@Clive_A so this is what I have:
https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/omada-switch-l3-l2-managed/tl-sg3428/
Its EOL but seems to be supported. Unless you can advise otherwise? It gives me the option to turn it on via the console as well.
Maybe im missing something here?

In the URL I provided, you have this link:
In that link, you have the listed models and I don't think yours is listed.

@Clive_A so if you feel that its not supported, why would the website sugguest the highlighted section in Red?
Also on my switch it has the ability to set the configuration:
So are you saying even though it looks to be configurable/or has options to configure it, its not officially supported?

CBC is not CCC.
Local Controller can also be added to the cloud. Figure out these terms.
Omada Cloud platform is a control panel to view and access all the bound controllers.

Why do you have to interpret this in your way? I understand that some devices don't work with the system and that's your main frustration but trying to explain the system in your way is not correct.
You are not understanding the thing in its proper definition and just try to defend a wrong concept and convince me.
Do you even watch the video? It explains the concept of the Omada SDN and it has cloud access to the controllers.
Cloud SDN refers to the Omada Cloud system which is the web you are accessing: xxx-omada-cloud.tplinkcloud.com
Cloud means the Over the Internet. SDN means the software controller you are seeing as the Omada GUI.
The local SDN can be integrated into the cloud access. That's Cloud SDN.
And based on the Cloud SDN, it has a variation later on developed which is CBC. And the compatible list has been announced since it was released.
The video and the concept are prior to the CBC concept. And it supports the Omada SDN(AKA Omada Software Controller). Not the CBC version.
