Client to LAN VPN Setup (ER605)
Hello:
Seeking some assistance to complete this setup. I am able to connect successfully but I am unable to see any of the hardware devices on the network.
I have not configured any routes so I am not sure if that would be the next step to have access to the local network resources after connecting through the VPN.
Can any point me in the right direction.

@MR.S I am using the TPLINK ER605 V2.6 Router in standalone mode to setup a L2TP VPN link to remotely access the resources on that network.
I am specifically trying to eliminate the use of Anydesk for remote access.
I have the Router configured for the L2TP tunnel which connects successfully but I am unable to reach any network resource. I am unable to ping or see any of the resource on the remote network.
I am supposed to configure any port forwarding or routing policy that would allow me to gain access to the remote resources?

you should not configure any port forward on the ER605, but if you have done port forward on the remote site, then it is ports UDP 4500 and UDP 500 and perhaps UDP 1701 that must be forwarded. if you configure l2tp with the same parameter on your computer does l2tp work?

@MR.S no port forwarding was done. Yes, the L2TP works, It shows connected on the computer that I am connecting from and the router shows that the tunnel is active.

ok, but can you ping something on the remote site from your computer? does the vpn work as it should if you configure L2TP on the computer?
to clarify, it is the VPN Client - L2TP you are going to set up on the ER605 that you are having problems with?
you want to use the router as a VPN client?

Here is a configuration guide if you want to use the router as an L2TP client

@MR.S I am not able to ping. when I send a ping it says timeout instead of unreachable but no successful reply.
If I have this correct, the ER605 would be the Server and the PC that I am connecting from would be the Client.

@MR.S Thanks, I will go through these.

@MR.S So I configured the L2TP Client and changed from NAT to Route and I am now able to access the devices on the network remotely.
