Model: CPE510
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Morning iam new to this cpe story.. i have connected two cpe510 from my main house to a house i rent out and after multi-able attempts by moving location of poles and heights i had speeds of 95mps  in light rain conditions. I have from then had majority of the time 3mps for past 2 months and the one day about 60mps then back to 3mps.. we thought it could be wind but had 3mps on windless day.

Could it be a setting? i have tried to play there to but no luck.

also was thinking to upgrade the sender unit to the cpe710 so i got more power transmitting.

distance between two houses is close to 700m

Hi  @519Franco

Please send a screenshot of the Status page, let's check if there is anything else we can do.

To improve the transmit power, it is a good idea to update to CPE710, but one is not enough, you may change both the transmitter and receiver to CPE710. What's more, CPE710 has gigabit LAN port while CPE510 is limited to 100M.

In the meantime, you can have a look at this guide:

How to troubleshoot the CPE in AP and Client mode when the wireless speed is slow

There are many similar threads talking about unstable connection. We have installed CPE510 at many locations. But last week we faced this issue. Despite all the troubleshooting still it didn't work. We knew it was a small problem that we are missing out. Since there was a mobile tower close the client device, we had a doubt the signal from the high power antennas may be causing an interference, which is very unlikely but as the problem was not getting resolved we were looking at every single parameters. Three days past, called the support and they too asked to repeat the same steps. Only change they asked was to change the region to test mode. So, first try to ping directly between device before up linking the internet. Adjust the power to 10, and change to lower band with 50mbps speed and 20hz. Change each parameter on AP and observe the number of pings. You can create a script in powershell to ping the IP continuously for 5 minutes with log of successful counts and failure. Also have a sound when the ping fails. That way you can know if the ping fails when you are on device setting page. When the number of pings improves. Lock the client with AP with the best signal. Now to fix the drops, ensure to enable IGMP proxy. When you connect the uplink, enable it on router too. Selecting the DFS channels may also works but like we had an issue where locally it works but when connected to WAN if it drops, try this. For us it worked perfectly after struggling for three days.
