Problem firmware upgrade SG3428X(UN) V1
Hello,
I recently upgraded my network with some new devices (SX3206HPP, OC300 and EAP773) but that's not the point.
So my core switch is a SG3428X V1 and I never was able to upgrade it with firmware found here :

I tried all firmwares, I never succeed to have any of them applied : I see the upgrade progress until 100%, I reboot the swith but the update never get applied.
I gave up with firmaware upgrade then...
Now I have upgraded my network with the devices I said before, escpecially the OC300, I was happy to see it wanted to upgrade my SG3428X(UN) V1 with 1.0.2 firmware to 1.30.
So I did the upgrade and... the switch never came back as connected on omada cloud, it says disconnected.
My network was working normally but I was not able to access to administration of the switch (which is a problem for me beacause of specific settings like LACP, QOS etc...).
I tried to reboot several times the switch, no effect.
I used a USB cable to reset the switch with putty : no effect... my switch still remain as non administrable (but working correctly)
I finally restore a backup with the usb cable console with putty and my switch came back.
I adopted it again on the OC300, made again the update, and same problem again.
I repeat this like 3 times, and always same problem.
I spent lot of time and effort (and money by the way) and now I have no clue how to upgrade my switch.... Shall I just give up ?

@nicolati Hello,
I do not see what you are talking about, I see only 1 way to upgrade my firmware in standalone ; here are 2 screens showing the post loggin page and the firmware upgrade page.
Let me know if you see I am wrong... maybe with a screen from you ?

The boot config, yes!!! :)
Maybe Clive can comment more, but you have Software version different then Flash version.
This one tells you also the image being booted and what you have at the next reboot.
Also, the flash will flash on the backup image, as mentioned in the page.
So, IMHO, you have to be sure to boot from the image you flashed...

@nicolati Ok I see what you mean now.
I remember I saw those 2 images when I connected to the switch with putty (console). I tried to load both of them and I did not see any difference in the main menu about the firmware version, I will try it again just to be sure...
Edit : Mhhhh I succeed to boot on the firmware 1.0.7 ! I went to boot config and selected a different image and clicked restore.
That is a really strange process to me but well ok ! I will try again with more recent firmware and will keep the post updated
Edit 2 : I succeed to load and boot on the firmware 1.0.12 which is the latest available in dowload section from TP-Link webiste.
Now... I will try again to adopt the switch on Omada and update it to 1.30....

@nicolati Thank you very much, my switch is up to day now !
I think at first my switch was buged and did not boot on the correct firmware, then Omada made it crash maybe because of the to large jump of version (I don't know).
But now all is ok I am at V1.30.

Think this is what's been missing in the first place. I thought it was a problem with the firmware. How to Upgrade/Downgrade Omada Switches
