I set up an old mini-pc as a NAS using Open Media Vault. The NAS is on my Office LAN. The purpose of the NAS is to share program files with PCs in my Shop that control CNC machines. I am currently trying to setup the cnc router.

Office = LAN 1 (Wired network)

Shop = VLAN 44 (WiFi)

I have access to the NAS shared folder from my Office PC (both on LAN 1) but I cannot get the CNC-ROUTER PC (VLAN 44) to find the shared folder on the NAS.

I can login to the NAS from the CNC-ROUTER PC through a browser so I know they can communicate.

OC200 Settings

IP Groups

ShopMediaNas - Office LAN - IP 192.168.11.13/32

CNC-ROUTER - Shop VLAN - IP 192.168.44.11/32

Services
Name: ShopMediaNas
Status: Enable
Bonjour Service: Samba
Services Network - VLAN: 1 (Office)
Client Network - VLAN: 44 (Shop)

Switch ACL (Before Blocking ACL)
Description: AllowShopMediaNas
Status: Enable
Policy: Permit
Protocols: All
Source: IP Group -> CNC-ROUTER
Destination: IP Group - ShopMediaNas

CNC-ROUTER PC Settings (Win 11 Pro)

Network set to Private.

Private Network Settings:

Network Discovery - ON

Setup Network Connected Devices Automatically - ON

File and Print Sharing - ON

All Network Settings:

Public Folder Sharing - OFF

File Sharing Connections - 128-bit

Password Protected Sharing - OFF

Windows Defender Firewall

All Inbound rules for SMB are enabled.

With the firewall off I still cannot find the NAS shared folder.

What am I missing?

  @Hank21

Also I am able to access NAS from my phone (android) on the Shop VLAN from any of my APs.

It has to be a Win 11 setting.

EDIT *SOLVED*

It was an issue with Windows Firewall. I reset the firewall and network setting to the default, then reset the network sharing settings. I don't know exactly what was the problem but all working now.

Could you tell me the model number of your Access Point? Does it support mDNS repeater? When you set up mDNS, what type do you choose?AP or Gateway?Please select VLAN 1 and VLAN 44 for both the Service Network and the Client Network.mDNS Repeater on the Router Doesn't Take Effect

  @Hank21

Thank you for the reply.

mDNS, Device Type = AP

Shop AP = EAP610 v3.0

Router = ER605 v2.0

Switch = SG2008p v3.20

Wireless Bridge (Shop building to Office building) = EAP211 v1.0

WAN comes into the Shop. The OC200, ER650 & S2008p are also in the Shop.

The link you posted is not valid. "Could Not Be Found".

EDIT - I found the link you posted.

Also I have mDNS setup to print to the Office printer (LAN 1) from the Home & Shop VLANS (22 & 44). This is working as expected so mDNS is working, at least for the printer.
