Model: EAP610
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.4.4 Build 20240312 Rel. 38091

Greetings,

I'm looking for support with the one super annoying roaming related issues.

Omada Config

router ER605 v2.0, 2.2.4 Build 20240119 Rel.44368

ap1 EAP650(EU) v1.0, 1.0.13 Build 20240131 Rel. 45057

ap2 EAP610(EU) v3.0, 1.4.4 Build 20240312 Rel. 38091

Fast Roaming and Force-Disassociation are enabled in Omada software controller.

APs are connected to router by wire.

The issue

Whenever mobile devices roam from ap1 to ap2, they lose internet connection for a few minutes. I can clearly see successful roaming messages in the logs and devices connect to ap2 with little to no downtime, however once connected both local network and internet become unavailable. Using networking tools on mobile devices, i can see that no DNS addresses are resolved and no pings work.

After a few minutes though (~4 mins), the issue somehow resolves itself but obviously the fact that it exists makes the whole roaming not usable. No additional messages in the logs.

Also worth mentioning that when you roam from ap2 to ap1 (EAP650) this is never an issue which makes me believe there is something wrong with EAP610.

Looking forward for some help before contacting tp-link service.

Cheers,

Olek

Hello @O_Bocharov

We have not re-duplicated your situation. Could you try to share your controller version, and the distance of the two EAPs? And could you also try to exchange the two EAPs and see whether the issue will only occur on the certain EAP?

Besides, to assist you better, I've created a support ticket via your registered email address, and escalated it to our support engineer to look into the issue. The ticket ID TKID240537202, please check your email box and ensure the support email is well received. Thanks!

Once the issue is addressed or resolved, welcome to update this topic thread with your solution to help others who may encounter the same issue as you did.
