 Not just a DHCP option but we're the router has a configurable ntp server acting as a master clock to other devices on our network.  We want to configure it to sync time from the Internet and then provide that time to our devices on the inside networks.  Looks like Microtek released it in os7.  Cisco gear calls ntp master.  Firewalla takes it a step further and has something called ntp intercept.  Where the firewall intercept ntp requests and answers it on the firewall/router.

Do you mean the router is supposed to open its NTP port and the DHCP option is filled with the router IP? The router syncs its time with the upstream NTP and then as the referrer, it replies to the NTP from the LAN?

It looks like what you described and asked for. NTP is not available because the router is not a NTP server.

The majority of the network vendors have this small feature. A router becomes a time 'reference' point (master NTP) for the rest of network devices. It is good to have but I guess it depends on the developer's consideration to make this available.

I support this request even though it is 'insignificant' but very common in all network products.
