EAP245(EU) v3 - not pushing firmware update through controller
I have 5 EAP connected - to OC200 V1 - Controller Version 5.13.30.20
I have EAP225-Outdoor (EU) v1 and EAP225(EU) v 3 - all these have been updated by the contoller to V5.1.6
However the EAP245(EU) v3 - is still at version 5.0.6 and i am getting no notification that it has a firmware update - however when i go to this site
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/download/eap245/v3/#Firmware
It shows that lates formware is v5.1
Has anyone had the same issue?
Should i proceed and do a manual update of the firmware?
Thanks
Ken

Hi @ken481
Since the EAP245(EU) V3 5.0.6 is only compatible with Omada Controller v4.1.5 or above, when your current controller is 5.13.30.20, which is much updated. You may try to upgrade the firmware manually so that it will be better compatible with the controller.

Thanks for your reply
But shouldn't the controller push a notification to update the Eap? When I go in the device section of the omada?

@ken481 I've just found this after my EAP 245's all disconnected themselves from the controllers across multiple controllers and needed a site visit to have their cable unplugged / re plugged before they could be managed again.
I'm finding the explanation about the firmware issue and requiring a manual update a blazé response that isnt very satisfactory.

I have the same issue, except 1 of my EAP245 did upgrade to the latest FW, 2 of them have not....
And my controller software is on the latest FW.
Is TP still saying we have to manually update our AP's as the controller cannot update them anymore? If that's was the case how can i still see them from my controller?
