  @Hank21

Thanks for feedback.

The 6GHz need to be complied to the FCC. Currently our firmware is not support AFC, thus we have implemented that the beacons are transmitted using a single antenna path at 22 dBm. But for actual data transmissions, the 4x4 MIMO antenna allows transmitting at a higher power level of 28 dBm.

Interesting. I did see behavior that is explained by this - Signal strength spiking when performing speed testing. I figured it was due to beamforming or something increasing the reception to the device, but increasing broadcast power for data transfer seems to better explain it.

I'll go ahead and stop fretting about it. Thanks for the explanation!

@Hank21 Ich habe gestern das Update auf meinem Windwos Software Controller durchgeführt und danach haben meine WLAN Clients die IP Adresse vom Managment VLAN bekommen. Warum ist das so?

Hi @Mathias86

From controller version 5.14, we will be able to add VLAN on SSID by selecting network. You can try to double-check the SSID setting and try again.

Hello,

I have a strange behavior since the last update.
I have my Omada controller installed in a VM, managing 1 Omada switch and 3 EAP650, all devices are connected to the switch.
I had an issue with the hypervisor NIC which caused a down of the machine.
I noticed that, being the Omada controller offline, the EAPs stopped the radio/were no longer providing WiFi service.
is this an expected behavior?

How can I maintain the radio on, in my EAPs, even if the controller is unreachable for some reason? Any setting to configure?

Thanks

Hi @Bianco8

May I know your controller version and EAP version now? Could you try to upgrade to the latest beta firmware 5.14.20.8? And could you share some WLAN setting on your controller to us?

To assist you better, I've created a support ticket via your registered email address, and escalated it to our support engineer to look into the issue. The ticket ID TKID240513031, please check your email box and ensure the support email is well received. Thanks!

@Hank21 I noticed something strange with the WLAN Optimization tool.  I have 4 APs, 2 650 v1s (1.0.13), a 610-outdoor v1 (1.2.6) and a 650-outdoor (1.1.3). One of my 650s was running an old firmware (1.0.3) because I was trying to diagnose another issue but this morning I updated it back to 1.0.13.  May 30 minutes later, I ran the WLAN Optimization tool but it only optimized 3 of my APs, leaving out the 650 that I had updated just before.  Any reason why it would exlude that 650?  There is nothing in the excluded list of APs.

Hello  @Hank21 , I have no messages in my mail box.

For sake of completeness, I'm using Omada SDN on Linux Debian container (hosted in Proxmox, if it matters).

This is the SSID configuration:

No particular configuration is set, just 3 SSID with WPA2/3 PSK, 1 is providing guest access via VLAN. I had no issues in the last 3 month, using this setup. I might test a rollback to the stable version to verify if that was the root cause.

The controller is connected to the same network via Linux bridge.

Thank you!
