Model: General Product
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.2

Been trying out an EAP683 and have noticed a couple of pretty substansial issues:

1. Lock To AP does not seem to work. I'm using lock to app functions for most of my IOT devices, but the EAP683 does not seem to honor it. I'm not seeing a single failed association "blocked by acl" associated to the EAP683. My other EAPs (610/615/650) all show the expected "blocked byt acl" message when a device attempts to connect that is not allowed. It seems that the EAP683 simply doesn't support the featyre yet.

2. High packet drop rates, much higher than my other APs, and much higher than an EAP650 that is swapped out into the position.

Generally, speeds seem pretty good, and I like the way it looks on the ceiling better than teh 610/650, but the functional shortcomings make this one a dud at this time. Guess it's not really ready for prime time. Firmware is the latest 1.0.2.

Thanks Hank. Does this fix the lock to ap function? That's the more critical issue for me.

  @PumaPants

Maybe EAP683 still doesn't support Lock to AP, wait for a new firmware.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.

Hi @PumaPants

Have you tried the Beta firmware? Did it fix the drop-out issue?

  @Hank21

No. The lock to AP function not working was a deal breaker, so I returned it while it was still in the return window and got an eap650 instead. It's too bad,  I really wanted the 683 to work for me.
