Following application of the firmware to the router, YouTube used by any browser (as tested on Safari, Chrome) will only work in Restricted Mode and this cannot be turned off.

The YouTube setting for turning Restricted Mode on/off say that it has been set by the Network Admin and the on/off toggle for Restricted Mode within the YouTube profile setting is greyed out and cannot be changed.

This restricts results that YouTube searches return and also removes any comments against any video so you cannot give or read feedback.

Downgrading back to V1.3 of the firmware resolves the issue (which is what I have done for now).

Not that I am aware of. Can you tell me where to look for those settings? For clarity, I just applied the V1.4 upgrade and YouTube wasn't working properly and then I reapplied the previous V1.3 firmware and it immediately worked again. I made no other configuration changes.

What you should try is to find if there is any settings on your controller. Controller distributes the config to the router. Controller does not always adapt to the firmware of the router, which might be the case where you tweak something on the controller and it did not work at that time, but now you upgraded the firmware of the router which it adapts to the new features like DPI or IPS, and it begins to work.

Ever since I worked as a tech support or at any time in my life with the Internet, I have not experienced such an issue. It does not make sense.

DPI and IPS are both under the Network Security.
