instead an 707 a 8411 - what to do
Hello, I am currently using an ER707-M2 to get DSL and fibre optics via WAN into the network.
Behind it is a NAS (2.5GB) and a switch with various APs (650). The switch is from Netgear and has one 2.5 and one 10GB LAN port.
I am now considering returning the 707 and taking an ER8411 instead. The idea behind this is that the LAN ports would be sufficient for the APs and so there would be no bottleneck.
I have two questions about this.
- Can the ER8411 also load-balance and backup like the 707 for a DSL and fibre optic connection, or is there anything else that speaks against it?
- What happens if I remove the 707 and integrate the 8411 behind an OC200?
Thank you for your help!

So you want to replace the ER707 with and ER8411 because you want to have more the 2.5G available on more than 1 port? If so, yes, the 8411 will do this for you.

Hi @Liftboy
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
1. Load balance and link backup are not different. Generally speaking, all the products share the basic mechanism for features but with different hardware for performance.
2. Settings are on the OC200. It does not matter what router you change for the OC200. It adapts.

Many thanks to you!
I am delighted that everything is going so smoothly. The larger router has a few ports to which I can connect the 650, the NAS, etc.. I don't think you'll notice anything during operation with the manageable number. However, this will save me a switch, or I'll add a small one that won't affect performance.
In the beginning it's always a bit more questioning on a simple level - it gets better!
Many thanks
