I've not tried that method.  I'm not sure it's applicable.  My device isn't bricked.  Nor do i have a PoE++ injector to run the 690 in the specified configuration.

 

It seems like a bug in the beta firmware or something.  I'd like to get a response from support before doing anything.  @Hank21 is this something you could help with?
