Issues with connecting WiFi Cameras to NVR 1008H
I have been trying to add my CP Plus wifi cameras to this NVR. The problem is that I can add them manually (not auto discovered) but once they are added to this NVR, the status shows Not Connected.
The cameras support ONVIF and they are working in EzyKam+ application and also on Happytime Onvif Client but they are simply not displaying any video when i connect them to this NVR. I have allocated static IPs to all the cameras.
I tried to ping all the cameras from NVR and they are pinging without any packet loss. Vigi Security Manager shows that the cameras are offline. NVRs and all the cameras are on the same network yet its now working.
Please assist to resolve this issue.

@Clive_A i tried to use the url you provided but it ends up searching over the google (default search engine).
So i tried to access the camera by simply entering the IP address but it didnt connect this way either (connection refused), screenshot in previous post.
Two formats:
http://ip:2020
https://ip:2020
What you showed me earlier is that 8000 to get the live stream. Not a standard ONVIF port.
That's not a default ONVIF port 2020.
You should look into that. Until you can ensure that it is using the proper ONVIF, we can discuss this after I examine your adjusted cameras.

I am getting above page when i try to access the camera using https://192.168.1.101:2020 Output of http://ip:2020 is also the same.
Also, i did not defined any port, happytime is picking up the port number 8000 automatically. Managament port in NVR is also mentioned as 8000. I am not much aware of the port numbers though.

You can contact the technical support team regarding this matter. About the firmware and NVR, I think they are intact.
Have you reset the camera before?
Remove the ONVIF connection from any other devices and do this add again on the 1008H. If this persists, see what suggestions you get from the support team.
I think it could be a compatibility issue.

@Clive_A I am also facing same issues with CP Plus CP-E24A model ONVIF Wifi camera. While these cameras are working perfectly fine with HIK Vision NVR.
Request you to please check & help in resolving the issue as I have just purchased TP Link ViGi NVR4032H & it would be a setback to me if the cameras fail to work with this NVR.
Seems that there is some issue with TP Link NVR only as the cameras are working fine with my hik vision NVR.

There is no fix to this yet and may not have any in the future.
The problem resides in the CP Plus IPC. I have checked with the team and we have found many cases with the CP Plus.
It looked like the CP Plus isn't following a proper ONVIF. At least the stream port is not a standard one which is what we believe is the case.
We are following the ONVIF standard. And the VIGI solution is aimed at the business cameras which should follow the industrial standard and comply with the ONVIF.

@Clive_A I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you completely.
The ONVIF Media Service specification is quite clear about this. You NVR is at fault for assuming the RTSP port to be 554 instead of querying the 'GetStreamUri' SOAP endpoint of ONVIF cameras.
The ONVIF Core Specification has no concept of a "standard" port for any protocol.
Both ODM and HIKVision have no trouble connecting to these cameras despite the cameras being third-party to them as well.
Here's a code overview for your engineers to fix the issue: https://superuser.com/a/1711576.
I would appreciate TP-Link acknowledging this issue and working towards a fix instead of vaguely mentioning that this might never get fixed.

I have the camera to NVR compatibility issue too. I have recently installed VIGI NVR2016H(UN) 1.20 with 9 VIGI C250 cameras. Those 9 cameras works perfectly until the client installed the additional TP-Link TL-IPC642-A4 Wifi cameras via the CAT5E LAN cables. The latter cameras only worked without connecting the NVR to the internet. However, once the whole system connected to the internet, the NVR stop recording and display cannot initialise the IPC642-A4 cameras.
TP-Link's last reply stated they could not confirm the compatibility of the third party cameras however, my case is the compatibility between TP-Link's products. I would like to know whether there is a firmware upgrade to either the NVR or IPC cameras to solve this problem.

No, it is incorrect to say this is our own product(global marketing perspective) and it is considered a third-party from the perspective of VIGI(software-ly).
To be clear, you purchased a Chinese mainland sold product. And it has NOT been developed by the same department.
We have a clear distinction between the models and the market.
We are not responsible for the support and compatibility of any mainland market-sold products. Any products that are supposed to be sold in China mainland but exported to a different country are not under TP-Link(Global) support.
If I recall correctly, the protocol is also not the same for China's mainland products and global products. That's a private protocol and I recall these models don't support NVR as well. The server for TL-IPC is inside the China mainland and VIGI resides on the Amazon Cloud service in different continents.
Return the product in timely manner as the product is not supposed to be sold in your region. And no warranty and support for the wrong product showed up in the wrong market.
Some facts:
1. TP-Link(Global) is NOT the same company as the TP-LINK(CN). We are NOT the same in the company structure, human resources, development, factory, product, and targeted market. Branding is the same but not in every other aspect.
2. TL- models have never been adapted to the TP-Link(Global) software, control system and firmware.
3. For the distinction from the TP-LINK(CN) sold models, we have removed the naming format starting with the TL-. And none of the models produced and sold by the official and authorized retailers are marketing as TL-.
Legacy models may contain the TL- but they are no longer produced and sold. Some inventories may be sold by some retailers but they are removed with the following update.

I think it would be wrong to blame CP Plus cameras. I have seen those working on many ONVIF supporting apps. Also, I have seen other people it work with other brand's NVR which support ONVIF, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J604mH3ht4g&ab_channel=TECHLOGICS
I think there's something wrong with CP Plus software. One issue I see TP Link is "assuming" the ONVIF port. Which can be seen in this image, I had entered the port as 80 but it's changing it to 8000, I think which is causing the issue.
