Hi @jhaime11
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
I am not sure how can I be of help. I cannot help you determine this but it is based on your network design or traffic type.
1. IP Precedence:
IP Precedence is a 3-bit binary field used to identify the priority of an IP packet. It ranges from 0 to 7, where 0 indicates the lowest priority, and 7 indicates the highest priority. IP Precedence is an earlier QoS marking method and specifies the priority of packets, but specific QoS parameters, such as bandwidth allocation or packet loss rates, depend on the configuration of network devices.
2. AF Class (Assured Forwarding Class):
AF (Assured Forwarding) class is a QoS category commonly used in the DiffServ architecture. DiffServ (Differentiated Services) is an IP-based QoS method that allows packets to be classified and assigns different levels of service quality to each group. AF class defines four different service classes with varying priorities and delivery guarantees to meet diverse application requirements. These four classes are AF11, AF12, AF13, AF21, AF22, AF23, AF31, AF32, AF33, AF41, AF42, and AF43.
3. EF Class (Expedited Forwarding Class):
EF (Expedited Forwarding) class is also a QoS category within the DiffServ architecture, designed to provide low-latency, low-jitter service, often used for real-time audio and video applications. The EF class offers the highest quality of service, ensuring that packets are expedited through the network with minimal delay. It is typically marked with a Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) value of 46
