EAP610-Outdoor Host Newtork Disconnected always
Pardon missing Model at the top it won't allow me to put in EAP610-outdoor (or EAP610 or EAP-610 or EAP 610 so I'm stuck)
I have an EAP 610-outdoor and per this help page: How to Configure the EAP610-Outdoor in Repeater Mode | TP-Link I have set it up in repeater mode to repeat my home network, I can see my home access point and input the password which it completes in the UX (iOS App Standalone Mode) I've set it to Copy Host SSID and then when I go to an area where I know I'm connecting to it (because I can see it in the app) and then look at the status in the App it says "Host Network" and I click there and it give me a status of "Disconnected" also the device cannot reach the internet so I know it's not getting on the host network.
What can I do to fix this? If I go back and pick the host network again in settings I can see several sites to connect to (I have multiple AP's in range broadcasting that host network in both 2.4 and 5 gHz ranges) I've tried switching which one it's connected to, and the ones I'm connecting to show full power.

Hello @TheGremlin,
Please make sure you type the correct password of the router SSID in this blank.
You may try both 2.4G and 5G bands for testing.

That's the password for the network that I'm connecting it to to repeat correct? if so then yes I've tried multiple times and am absolutely sure that it's the correct password.

Hi @TheGremlin,
Did you put the EAP close to your main router?
Please try changing a different channel and channel width on your router for testing.
You may set a different SSID for EAP and it is easy to compare the different networks to do the troubleshooting.
Please share the error message of "Disconnected" on the EAP web interface with us.

@Hank21 The EAP is around 50 feet from the main router, across an open room, so no obstructions. If I change the EAP's broadcasting SSID (the one it advertises) to something other than the main network everything works fine immediately (except I have a separate network) it works, and it shows host connected. When I select the option to mirror the Host which is what I really want it fails to connect to host. I was hoping to have the same SSID as it means that clients will roam to this EAP when it's strongests, when separate SSIDs you have to make them switch otherwise they hang on to the other network even when it's not a great signal. As it's an advertised and in firmware feature I expect this to function.
I'm running Firmware 1.1.3 Build 20230330 Rel 73099

Hello @TheGremlin,
Based on your description, this issue may be caused by your phone being connected to the Router's SSID after you set the EAP, because the EAP's SSID is the same as the router's at this moment. That is why it can work if you set a different SSID from the router. You can set up the EAP successfully with a different SSID first, and then change the SSID to the same one as your router's for testing.

This is incorrect from my data.
When the EAP is set to mirror the Host network the behaviour I see is as follows:
- When the phone is connected to my main network via the main AP and not through the EAP then the Omada app will not show the EAP on it's screen since it's not connected to the host network and can't be viewed
- then I move to a location the opposite side of the EAP from the host network and my phone will connect to the EAP instead on the HOST networks SSID (I can see this happen as the signal strength goes from lower to full again)
- At the point in time the EAP shows up on Omada but I don't have an interenet connection at all, and the EAP shows under the "Wireless->Host Network" page "Host Disconnected".
Changing the EAP to a different SSID from the host then I can see the EAP while I'm on the host network, and get on the internet from the EAP. Changing it back to the Host SSID and it all fails again. This is infinitely repeateable

Hi @TheGremlin,
You can use the WiFi Analyzer to check what SSID is currently connected by this phone.
Download one radio scanning APP on your phone, here we take Wi-Fi Analyzer as an example > connect to the SSID you want to optimize > and open the APP.
The SSID marked in the image above is the EAP your phone has connected to and the list below are SSIDs surrounding you. This page will show SSID name, broadcasting device MAC address, signal strength, country code, working channel, middle frequency, approximate distance, speed, IP address your phone gets, and encryption method.
You may use the MAC address to compare whether the phone is connecting to the EAP now.
You can also turn down the TX Power on your router.

@Hank21 hi so what exactly do you want me to do once I check the connections?
I can already tell if I'm on the EAP or not, in one case the EAP has a different SSID than the host network and I can tell because that's the SSD I am attached to.
In the second case when the EAP is attempting to re-broadcast the HOST SSID I know when I'm on the EAP because when I'm not connected to the EAP the EAP is not visible in the Omada app, and when I am connected to it it's visibile in the app and I do not have a connection to the internet.
Bascially I already know if I'm connected to the EAP or not, and can confirm as I stated in the above that when the EAP is attempting to mirror the Host network it does not connect to the host, but when it doesn't mirror it does. That's the bug I'm trying to solve here. If you have exact steps on things you want me to try I'm happy to do that, but I do believe I've covered what you are asking me to do here.
