TL-SX3008F, a 10Gbps SFP+ port switch, is not capable of routing Jumbo frames in L3 standalone mode.

It would mean a lot to the community to add this feature, as many of us are using this switch as an aggregation switch in our networks.

it is needed. We need L3 routing of jumbo frames.

Hi @samsepiol

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

What's your definition of a jumbo frame in L3? The switch supports a jumbo frame of 9KB.

L2 FEATURES > Switching > Port > Port Config, you can set Jumbo Frame there.

  @Clive_A

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Yes we can set the jumbo frame setting there to 9216.

But after that, if we Ping from a device to another one on a different vlan (hence layer 3 routing via this switch), pings don't work.

For example "ping -f -l 9000" does not work when pinging a device on another vlan.

The destination device on vlan50 above has jumbo frames on its NIC, as it is able to ping itself with 9000 bytes no problem.

The source device on vlan10 from where I am pinging above also has jumbo frames enabled on its NIC and can ping itself with 9000 bytes no problem.

I suspect the issue here has to do with the fact that the switch does not update its own vlan interfaces with the jumbo frame setting (they still remain MTU 1500 in the layer 3 interface page below) and so it cannot forward >1500 bytes between vlans. I tried saving config and rebooting, but still the MTU stays the same value 1500 as below:

VLAN50:

and also VLAN10:

Hi @samsepiol

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Is the switch hosting the DHCP servers? Except for VLAN, what other functions did you host on it?

Are you using an Omada router to host VLAN interfaces?

Need a brief network diagram as well.

I did some further tests and also confirmed with the dev that we don't support the L3 jumbo frame. Will add this to the request pool.
