@Clive_A thanks for getting involved. My question is very detailed about the usage of wire within the cat7 network cable or the usage of the pins in the switch. Lets say i want to use 2 or 4 wires of the network cable for another purpose. In a 10/100 mode A, so with mixed DC & data you get 4 Pins or Wires as unused. (Blue solid, Blue white, Brown, Brown white). Does the switch recognize the mode i need? Or does it always automatically operate in "1000 (1 gigabit) mode A/B, DC & bi-data"

Or to simplify the question: When i remove Blue and Brown Pins while rewire, does my POE Equipment still gets juice and data from the switch?

  @Criggn Antwort für Interessierte: Ich hab dazu einen Versuch gestartet, das funktioniert. Wenn das Endgerät die Phantomspeisung akzeptiert versorgt der Switch es via 4 Draht/Pin anstelle der 8. Einziger Nachteil ist die geringere Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit, da für 1GBit alle 8 Drähte/Pins benötigt werden. Übrig sind Blau, Blau-Weiß, Braun und Braun-weiß (nach T568B)

Answer for those who might be interested: I ran a test, it works. When the power sourcing equipment runs with DC and Data combined the switch will power and data on 4 wires/pins instead of 8. Only disadvantage is a slower speed, because 1 gbit will have to use all 8 wires/Pins. Spare are blue, blue/white, brown, brown/white (as of T568B).
