Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20230609 Rel.34068

Good afternoon,

Can someone confirm if or when split tunneling will be available for Wireguard?.

Currently split tunneling is available on OpenVPN however the throughput is very low when trying to use it with a VPN service, such as: Nord, Proton, IVPN etc.

The concept of Omada is great, however there seems to be alot of missing features / configurations / settings / logs / analytics, maybe some of the development team can view the forums on pfsense, OPNSense and see whats realistic to replicate.

Omada has amazing potential but let down in some ways.

Many thanks.

Hi @Jenlou

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

First, the slow speed with a VPN service may not be a problem with router hardware/software. Have you confirmed the max speed your Nord and other VPN providers offer?

pfsense is an open source software unlike pre-built routers and Omada solutions. We currently focus on competitors with pre-built routers. Thanks for your feedback on this.

About the split tunnel on Wireguard, appreciate your feedback and I'll forward it to the dev team for further evaluation.

  @Jenlou:
You only need to adjust the desired destination network (192.168.0.0/24,192.168.1.0/24,...) instead of 0.0.0.0/0 under allowed IPs of your client and only the registered IP networks will be sent through the tunnel and all others through your normal default gateway.

@AngelK Thank you for your response. Unfortunately this does not work.

Tech support in response to Wireguard split tunnel:

"Our Router currently does not support specifying LAN networks which should use the VPN tunnel or not. So VLAN10 and VLAN5 are both going through the VPN tunnel, we cannot split them currently. We will add this feature in the future. In order to make use of this split tunnel feature, OpenVPN might be the best choice."

I'm hoping this will be added soon, I used to use OPNSense an switched to Omada for simplification / unifying.
