Model: ER8411
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.0

Hi

Does anyone know a way to force the fans to be on on the ER8411? Or know at what temperature the fans come on?

We have the router in a warm environment and with 2 SFP+ in use the router gets quite warm. It reports 58-59 degrees.

The noise of the fans are not a problem so I dont mind them on all the time.

The fans turn on when the router powers on and stops once booted up , and the fan light is solid green. So I know the fans work fine.

There is no option I can find in the router menu in standalone or under OC200 management to turn the fans on..

Is there a console CLI command I can use to enable the fans? Or some other way?

Hi @Morm

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Sorry that there is no way to set the fan speed manually. The fan is not PWM and it only spins when it reaches certain levels of temperature.

  @Clive_A

on related note / request / feature

Looks like the redundant power supplies defaults to one. Would be cool if having the option to change and or balance schedule. Where it can be configured to use PS1 for XX days or cycles, then swap to PS2 for XX days or cycles.  To even out the wear by spreading the loads.
