EAP610 Outdoor mesh
Hi, We have 3 houses on the property, and I first installed 1 "EAP610 outdoor" connected via cable to the ISP router (House 1). Got great wifi speed OUTSIDE all 3 houses, but inside in house 2 and 3 the signal drops by 90+ %. Bought a second "EAP610 outdoor" (as adviced by dealer). I hope to put the second EAP610 on house 2 (wirelessly)-is this possible and if so how? Got no support via TP-link support chatbot. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

- Download / Install Omada Software Controller to Desktop, Laptop or other. (Must run full time for full functionality)
Alternately purchase an OC200 Hardware Controller and connect at house 1 router. - With MESH enabled on software controller or OC200, adopt the second EAP610 Outdoor.
The second EAP610 OD will connect wirelessly to the first wired EAP610 OD. Keep in mind that when you MESH you lose some throughput.
I recommend returning the first EAP610 Outdoor if possible, and purchasing three EAP225 Outdoor and one OC200 Hardware Controller.
For reference I think the main difference between the EAP610 Outdoor and the EAP255 Outdoor is as follows. Realistically you are not going to see full potential.
- EAP610 Outdoor 802.11ax (up to 1201 Mbps)
- EAP225 Outdoor 802.11ac (up to 867Mbps)
I doubt the extra money is going to be worth the difference you see, if any. I think in the end you are going to need a third EAP at the third house. For just $40 more of the cost of two EAP610 Outdoor with no controller, you can three EAP225 to cover all three houses, plus the OC200 Controller for ease of setup and mainenance.
