Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.1.0 Build 20230104 Rel. 79433(4555)

Hello all,

in order to reduce the radiation exposure and to save power, I think it would be useful if there is a possibility in the wireless scheduler to set it in a way that the radio signals of the AP are only switched off at the defined time, if no client is connected. If clients are connected, the radio signals are only switched off when the last client has disconnected.

I have seen this feature/behavior on the FritzBox routers and miss it on the EAPs.

What do you think? Is this function useful for you?

Greetings

  @deparcus

what does it call on fritzbox? do you have a screenshot of that? you have the scheduler on omada controller

it's asking for the condition and output action??

i really want to see this feature as I've never seen it.

  @Tedd404

Hi,

I only found a german screenshot:

With the first switch you enable the wifi scheduler and the second one just says "Wifi will only be switched off if no Wifi Client is active".

The Radio button defines the time span when wifi should be off.

Thats pretty easy to handle and understand and straight forward :)

Does that help?

In Web Admin Interface of EAP245 (e.g.) I can only define a profile (I defined a daytime profile) and then assign it to an action. Action can only be "Radio On" or "Radio Off". Would be great to have here the option to switch off only if no wireless client is connected.
