Slow Web Management on OC200
Slow Web Management on OC200
I recently installed an OC200 controller with a TL-SG2210P switch and 2 EAP610 AP's.
running the Omada app on iPhone and iPad work great, as does the local web management on a wired windows PC.
However accessing the web management on either my iPad or MacBook is almost impossible to use due to the extremely slow response. I have tried both wired and wireless connections and different browsers. Safari, Chrome and Edge. All of these attempts don't provide any changes.
is this a known issue or has anyone else experienced this ?

Hi @JohnBD
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
How slow is it? What's the URL format? "Not secure, https://ip"?
What's the reply time from your device to the OC200 if you run ping?
What are your ipconfig /all settings on your computers? macOS may be a different command. If you have a Windows PC, run it and test the access time from the Chrome browser.

Model: OC200
Version: 5.11.10
Firmware: 2.10.2 Build 202330704 Rel.64607
A month ago I installed an OC200 hardware controller at each of my two schools to monitor the EAP610's AP I have at each site. Cloud access was quick and very responsive until I upgraded the firmware on both OC200's to 2.10.2 Build 202330704 Rel.64607.
Now, the Cloud access is unusable. Webpages either load after several minutes or not at all. Often when a page get loaded there is an "This webpage was reloaded because a problem occured" message.
At first, I thought the problem was with my browser, internet connection or the Omada Cloud server itself. However, I went to one of my schools yesterday and connected to the OC200 directly using an eithernet cable. The behaviour was better, but each page still took up to a minute or longer to load. The slow response time made the interface frustrating to use.
I'm considering going back to the previous firmware version.

@GeeTee73 I just downgraded mine. It seems the version is in BETA, and it is not advised to test it on the main controllers. Lucky for me, I have set my controller to back up every day and was able to restore data from seven days ago.

I just fininsh adding another OC200 to a third location.
It's running:
Version 5.6.4
Firmware 2.6.1 Build 20220921 Rel.35903
perfectly.
No issues.

Resolved, see below.
Same or similar issue. I have an OC200, and I manage it via the cloud interface, https://omada.tplinkcloud.com. I last managed the network about 2 months ago and I cannot remember an issue. 2 days ago I updated the controller software and managing it via https://omada.tplinkcloud.com is unbearable slow now. Not sure if it's the version, or something else. It's not me as far as I can tell, everything else is fast and I am on an unrestricted 1GbpFibre internet link. OC200, 5.12.9. 1.26.3 Build 20230906 Rel.36269 The actual issue is clicking on anything on the web interface causes the browser page to freeze, then 8-15 seconds later it finally loads. Not other issues at all on the network. Frustrating.
Update: Yes, i was using Safari on a Mac Studio.... confirming that for me at least, it seems to be a Safari issue. I just opened it on Chrome and no issues at all. Back to full speed. Happy!

As of 5.12.9 it appears to be even worse. I now have the same issue on Chrome. No amount of cache flushing or 'private' browser sessions seem to make any difference. It's taking 1-2 minutes per click for the page to respond.
The common theme is IOS, more specifically iPadOS, as we do not have any hardware other than iPads at our site. For the record, standard IOS Omada app works just fine, but is crucially limited in what can be done with it.
At this stage I'd be tempted to roll back to an earlier known working version but the irony is that without access to a Windows or similar desktop device it will be near impossible to do.

I just installed my system, everything was running fine until i upgraded the firmware of the controller, and now it's unusable on Safari on iPad.

There is an issue with the performance of the GUI when using Safari, this was mentioned in the release notes and they are working for a fix in a future update.
In the meantime its best using an alternative browser
