Model: TL-SG2428P
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 Build 20221222 Rel.51105

Hello friends

I think the switch is broked and has to be exchanged.

A customer has

- OC200 as Omada Controller

- ER605 v2.0 as Router (connected over PPPOE to internet)

- TL-SG2428P v1.0 as Switch

- 2x EAP225 as Accesspoints

Problem:

After hours of working, suddenly OC200, Accesspoints/WiFi and VOIP DECT POE station are not reachable anymore.

Internet over cable is stil working, but thats the only thing working then.

After removing powercord, everything is working again.

Everyday, customer have to "fix" this, but it is not the solution.

Seems to me to be a bad switch, since everything connected to the switch is "dead"...

Strange thing is, that internet is stil working, so computer, that are connected over cable, can just work, but no phone, no wifi and no connection to OC200...

Some ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

after some research with supportteam, I had to replace this switch via RMA. There was no other solution. Since replacement, everything works like a charm.

  @kogan

have you verified the local IP address on devices on this switch? how do you determine it's a bad switch?

verify the cables? the config? anything messed up by your customer? any loop? checked the log? Link  LED on the switch on or off?

if you have not done these yet, I don't think the community can help. this is basic troubleshooting to locate and isolate the problem.

@kogan Do you found a solution for the issue? I have a similar problem with a customer. The switch runs stable for 2-3 weeks and then I have the same error pattern as described above. I installed the latest firmware TL-SG2428P(UN)_V5_5.0.5 Build 20230602 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, this has not changed anything either.

Have you been able to solve the problem in the meantime?
