Connection speed limit
Hey TP-Link Community,
a couple of months ago I upgraded from a 50MBIT/s fiber connection to a 300MBIT/s connection.
With that Upgrade I also had to get a better Switch because my previous one was only capable of 100MBIT/s.
So far so good, everything was working well when I connected my devices and I had full connection speed for everything.
However, after a couple of weeks I noticed my connection speed was suddenly limited to 100MBIT/s.
I rebooted the Switch, Updated the Firmware and unplugged cables and redid everything.
After that it was eventually working again. But after a couple of days the issue reoccured.
Then a couple of weeks ago I got a new PC and the connection was great the entire time until yesterday when it suddenly downgraded to 100MBIT/s again.
It is also the Uplink (Port 1) that runs into an "actual" limit as well as my PC sometimes going into an actual limit (Port 2) as well as my Fire TV Stick (Port 3)
Also when I changed the Speed/Duplex for my Uplink to 1000MF, most of the time my connection was gone at all or I somehow could reconnect after 10 minutes and then had an actual speed of 10MBIT/s.
My Router is quite far away from my Room, so I'm using a 50 Meter Bigtec Cat 5e cable.
I'm also quite sure that the cable is not damaged as it is working for weeks without issues sometimes and because of the weird behaviour of the Switch when I change the Speed/Duplex settings.
I'm working as an IT Specialist and haven't seen something like this yet.
Any suggestions?
Testing a different Cable would be my last option, as it would be quite a lot of work to do.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
