Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.2 Build 20230210 Rel.62992

Is it possible to control the ER605 directly over REST API or similar?

I would like to script changes to the router (allow/disallow) from a Linux server.

It seems a bit superfluous to install Omada Controller to control a single device...

And yet the controller is the home of the TPlink mismanagement API. I think you will have to write your own PSEUDO-API using the existing web intetface URLs on the ER605.

Thanks for clarifying!

I keep getting amazed on how unnecessary complicated som Companies insist on being, I should have checked that before buying... :-(

I wonder when open-wrt might be ready: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/can-i-install-openwrt-on-tp-link-er605/145301 ?

Well pseudo-API it is then...

I read another thread that said it had been done, but I think you need to solder the UART port up to make it permanent, and the number of patches to get there was dizzying. Definitely well above most folks abilities.

Hmm, https://forum.openwrt.org/t/looking-for-info-and-possibility-of-future-support-of-tp-link-omada-er605-router/91868/39?page=2
Seems that one can get to root through ssh - Must try that in the weekend, that would probably be the simplest solution, if it works!?

  @Knaldgas

I can confirm the above will get you root access, not sure that gets you any closer though.
