VPN not working l2tp, ipsec, openvpn on ER605
Hello,
I followed the tplink documentation to create a vpn server.
My devices :
- ER605
- Switch SG2008P
- OC200
- EAP115
I managed to configure my hardware and adopt it with OMADA.
I have a consumer ISP box with dynamic ipv4. I created a DynDNS at my provider with a domain name. I configured my router. The DynDNS works.
My test with OpenVPN it's connect but i don't have accès to my LAN.
I can"t connect from windows 11 to l2TP or IPSEC with PSK and user :
I tested the opening of the ports on my router ISP in UDP 4500 500 1701. I tested similary in OMADA Transmission > NAT.
Thank you so much for your help.
Have a nice day.

Hello @Wynal,
May I know the WAN IP address of ER605? Is it a public IP?
Have you tested these VPNs on different VPN Clients?
Have you tried turning off the firewall and anti-virus software on the VPN Clients for testing?

Hello @Hank21,
Thank you for your reply.
I tried on my laptop with another internet connection and without firewall/antimalware (windows defender). Does not work.
My IP of ER605 is 192.168.0.1
The WAN port of ER605 is directly connected to my ISP box.
My ISP box has a dynamic ip, it changes every day. I created a DynDNS with a domain name.
Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day.

Hello @Wynal,
1. Please go to Device List, and click on the ER605, and you will see a detailed window pops up.
And you may go to Details---WAN, please share a screenshot with us as the below image.
2. May I know the firmware version of ER605?
Did you set ER605 as the VPN Server, and the Windows PC as the VPN Client?
Did you set IKEv2 VPN on the Windows PC?
3. There are some Configuration FAQs as your reference:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3050/
If it doesn't help, please share some screenshots of your VPN settings.

Hello @Wynal,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you change the DNS to blank or 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 for testing?
Please confirm if the Pre-Shared key is correct, and you may refer to this article to do some troubleshooting.
Did you set the same subnet for VPN IP pool as the DHCP IP pool?
If so, you may change to another subnet for testing.
And you may go to Insight-VPN Status to check if the tunnel is established.

Hi @Wynal,
Thanks for such detailed information!
Please confirm if you have enabled IPsec PassThrough in ALG on the ISP Router.
And confirm if the Server IP you typed in is the ISP Router's WAN IP address.
Please go to Insight—VPN status—VPN tunnel, and share a screenshot of this page with us.
If it doesn't help, could you create a test VPN and share the username, password, pre-shared key, and Server IP via the Message on the community?
And then we can try to connect to it locally for testing.
