Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Hi all,

I have problems connecting my UAP 225 outdoor.
It will not show up in Omada, and the http://tplinkeap.net link is not working (Safari nor google chrome)

What I've tried so far on multiple devices

- Wired and wireless conecting to the UAP 225 outdoor

- Reset and reboot the UAP 225

A year ago I did manage to get the UAP 225 setup, now it won't connect anymore thats why I reset the devide.

Does anybody have a solution to this?

  @PimHolland000 just curious, what is the "switch to new version" at the bottom of the app?

Are you running the latest firmware (ie 5.0.9 or 5.1.0 I think)?

Have you done a full on factory reset (depress and hold the reset button (hole beside ethernet jack) for 15-20s?

Are you trying to adopt this via mesh ie via another working EAP225, or setup via wired connection?

What colour is the LED on the side, and is it solid or blinking?

I suspect the issue is that the EAP225-outdoor is not connected to a router which provides DHCP.  This is necessary for both the AP to get its IP, and ultimately the device you are trying to use to configure it to get an IP that is routable to it.  Your screen grab shows you are connected to the APs wifi, but did the laptop get a sensible IP or not?

@d0ugmac1
Thank you for your reply
I am not able to see the software version but it was bough 6months ago

Factory reset was 10seconds (until orange light blinks) would 20seconds make a bigger reset?

The setup is EAP225, Power over Ethernet adapter, CAT6 cable, macbook pro + right ethernet adapter Also tried wireless

Color LED is solid green

Correct, once setup the EAP225 should function as an acces point for a audio stagerack to be controled by ipad through its network port.
So when I would connect it to my home wifi router it might show up and make me able to configure ?
The macbook did show an IP on the network adapter (when entering this into safari/chrome it didnt show anything.

Solid green is a happy AP.

If you just want to set it up and leave it as a wired node connected to your router, then connect it to the router and set it up that way.

However, it sounds like you want to use the '225 as a wireless bridge.  That's fine, but to set it up, you need an already configured and working AP that supports meshing and an active controller, and then power it up with nothing connected to its ethernet port and THEN adopt it via the controller.  If the ethernet port is active, it will assume it will get an IP and have connectivity via that port.  Once configured as a meshed unit, you can connect a client device to the ethernet port and use it as a bridge normally.

Clear as mud?

Update: I got into the settings of the 225 via wifi on tplinkeap.net you were right!
Now I don't quite understand what you're saying and how I should translate this into the settings.

Setup: "Allen & Heath CM48 mixrack" (this is the device that I want to control with an ipad.
Manufacter says the IP = 192.168.1.70
I tried creating a static IP as mentioned on the manufacter site But I think I mess up with the DNS?

  @PimHolland000

Ok.  Your IP config on the AP is okay as long as you've confirmed the mixrack is actually 192.168.1.70.  The problem now is in how you are connecting the two devices.  Both the AP and the mixrack are 'clients' and would normally get plugged into a switch or router.  However, I suspect you are just connecting them with two cable, ie 225-cable-poe injector-cable-mixrack.  In this case you need to make a 'cross-over'cable, which is an ethernet cable with the RX and TX pairs swapped and use that as (only one) of the cables.  Alternatively (like you don't want to build your own cable), get yourself a $20 5-port switch (or spend $50 to get an integrated POE version that will directly drive the AP) and a third cable.  Your setup would now look like 225-cable-injector-cable-switch-cable-mixrack, or with the POE switch it would look like 225-cable-poe_switch-cable-mixrack.

You will also need to statically configure the IP on the iPad for this to work.  It may be easier to replace the cheap switch above with a cheap router, like the ER605, because you need something to give the iPad an IP when it wireless connects (if you cannot configure the iPad's IP statically on a wireless connection--and I"m betting Apple has dumbed that down and out).  This helps because now the AP can be left as a dynamic IP as well.  You just set the router up with the manufactuer's parameters you pasted above (ie keep your DHCP range away from the mixracks' .70 address.  Final solution is probably iPad <<< >>> 225-cable-ER605-cable-mixrack

  @d0ugmac1

Thanks you're helping me a lot.
Correct I was connecting the AP through the injector with a single cable to the Mixrack.

I will get that ER605 and update you once I got it running!

  @PimHolland000

You will use the ER605 like switch with built in DHCP, so you will ignore the WAN port in this setup.

You will enable the remaining 4 ports all as LAN ports, which is the default apparently:

The default LAN subnet is 192.168.0.0/24 and you will need to change it to be 192.168.1.0/24, by changing the router's IP to 192.168.1.1

If you have to pick a VLAN try 1 then 2.

Your DHCP server should be ok one the IP above has been changed:

You can leave your AP configured as is, but I'd recommend you change it back to dynamic, or label it :)

You can now plug the AP via the injector and the mixrack into any 2 of the LAN ports (#2 through #5)

but make sure that whatever VLAN you set for the LAN above is applied to the ports used, and set to UNTAGGED

The ER605 is probably the cheapest option. You can do what you want with the SG2008 and SG2008P switches as well (they have a built in DHCP server) and the SG2008P has POE as well, but it could be twice the price of the ER605 and you already have the injector. (Just some options if you get stuck with availability probs)
