My ER605 V1_1.2.3_Build 20230413 Beta Firmware results
First, I'm happy to see TP-Link listened to their customers' complaints. Took a while but better late than never.
Second, I haven't tested anything other than OpenVPN's certificate+account feature that I've been waiting for to be added. While I'm happy that it was added and I can confirm it connects without issues (no way to know however unless I check the NordVPN website to show me "Protected"), I'm not happy about the speeds. The download/upload speeds are 14 Mbps/9 Mbps respectively according to speedtest.net. If I connect to the very same vpn using my pc instead of the router I still get the max speeds of my ISP which is 540 Mbps download and upload. So through the ER605v1 router I lose roughly 97% speed which makes the feature pretty much useless for iptv and that is strictly what I wanted to use it for. Not much you can watch without major buffering issues at only 14 Mbps download.
It's unfortunate, but I kinda expected a big speed loss...just not 97% of it.
I can't comment on the source ip of the Large Ping attack fix because I just don't get those anymore, not since one of the first few firmware upgrades that were released for this router.
