Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.2

The ER605 displays the IP address of the printer and other devices, but when searched, the device isn't actually there.

For example, the OCS200 interface shows the printer being at 192.168.0.9 but the printer is actually at 192.168.0.166.

The same with the network storge, this is shown as being at 192.168.0.24 but is acutually at 192.168.0.62

I've attempted to reserve addresses for the items but this doesn't work either. I've followed the current discussions on reserving addresses and updated all firmware.

Regardless of what we do, the printer regularly moves IP and we can't find it as it isn't what omada says it is.

 Hi @David_B4

Could you please confirm the printer IP settings, is it using DHCP(dynamic IP)?

The fixed IP function on the controller can only take effect when the device uses DHCP

@Hank21 yes the device is set to DHCP. The Fixed ip in omada is set to 192.168.0.67 but the printer is not actually there.

Sounds like you might have another device providing DHCP.  Can you share your network topology?  Any chance you still have an old router or unmanaged smartswitch in the mix?  If you are familiar with Wireshark, you could sniff for "BOOTP" and see who is responding to DHCP requests.

@d0ugmac1 I have a router in bridge mode, connecting the ER605 to the Web. There aren't any other switches in the house that could be providing DHCP.

We're due to be moving into a new office and adding several other omada switches within the next month, so I'm really worried!

I'm not familiar with wireshark. We bought the omada kit because of its implied simplicity... how wrong we appear to have been!

Any other thoughts?

I assume devices connected to the switch can access the web normally?

Have you power cycled the ER605 since adding the fixed reservations?

Have you configured any VLANs in your setup?

How do you feel about PM'ing me a 'read only' or 'Viewer' login to your controller so I can look at the config?
