Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.21.7 Build 20221206 Rel.58608

I'm planning to buy a second ER605 V2 to use a second WAN, connected to TL-SG2428P.

There are 12 EAPs connected to TL-SG2428P and currently being adopted by OC200 V1 and only uplink (gateway) is my first ER605 V2. My first ER605 V2 becomes unresponsive a lot these days. Only a full reboot help. The system has 40-90 client devices.

Will it work to split the workload on 12 EAPs to 6 EAPs on each ER605 V2.

1 LAN, 1 VLAN.

ER605 V2 (A) -----> SG2428P ---->OC200

                               (managed 6 EAPs)

ER605 V2 (B)-----> SG2428P---->OC200

                               (managed 6 EAPs)

Do I need to setup another interface and another VLAN for ER605 V2(B)?

Or

Do I scrap this plan? Get another ER605 V2 and another managed switch like TL-SG2210MP and adopt these 2 devices like it's at another site?

If you don't have your router on a weekly reboot schedule, that should be your first step.  I've had my ER605v1 doing that for a year and it solved my 'unresponsive' issues.  In my case, the controller lost contact with the router...and some days later, all hell broke lose as the DNS stopped working.

You can't have 2 routers in the same site (a site by Omada definition is a router), and if you split the EAP's across two sites, I think you'll lose some functionality, seamless roaming for starters... it gets messy.

LOL. My router became unresponsive in 4 hours so... Weekly schedule did not reduce my stress level. I guess I will go with getting another router and not adopt by Omada SDN. See if this configuration will save me some pain.

  @YuukiA  Just buy a better router to replace the ever problem some ER605.  The ER7206 is more stable & could handle what you suggest.  Better still use a pfSense or OPNsense box/

  @GaelForce

For sure. I just bought ER7206 V1 to handle it. Let's see it works out. Planning to buy Netgate 1100 for my homelab.
