Issue Description/Phenomenon

 

Recently we received feedback that EAP650 | EAP670 | EAP653 may fall into adoption loop (loop in adopting-> configuring-> heartbeat missed-> disconnected) or stuck in "Disconnected" state.

 

The issue usually happens after a reboot of the EAP device, and the key condition that triggers this problem is that the 5GHz band of the EAP works in the weather radar channels (channel 120, 124, or 128).

 

Available Solutions

 

The issue will be fixed in the subsequent firmware soon.

Before the new firmware is released to fix the issue, you may upgrade the following Beta firmware to fix the issue temporarily.

Beta Release Notes

1. Fixed the disconnected issue caused by weather radar channels based on the current official firmware Build 20220921.

2. The above firmware is applied to EAP650(EU&US) | EAP670(EU&US) v1/v1.20/v1.26, EAP653(EU&US) v1/v1.60.

3. Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before proceeding!

Alternatively, you may follow the steps below to fix the issue as a temporary solution:

1. On the Devices list of your Omada Controller, choose the EAP device in question and hit Forget.

2. Wait couple minutes until the EAP device in question turns into "Managed by Others" state.

3. Wait at least 10 minutes (or you may adopt failed), then try to adopt the EAP device again with the Device Account.

 

IMPORTANT Notes:

After you temporarily fix the issue with the suggestions above, to avoid the issue from happening again, it's suggested to

• Fix the 5GHz channel to non-radar channels (any channels except for channel 120, 124, or 128 would be okay).

• Disable the AI WLAN Optimization feature on the Controller to prevent the Controller adjust the channels automatically.
