Model: SG2210P
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.20.8 Build 20221130 Rel.42340

Hi

- I have installed an Omada system

- Controller and all devices running latest firmware/software

- Controller is an OC200 v1.0 (firmware: 1.21.7 Build 20221206 Rel.58608)

- Switch A is a TL-SG2210P v3.20 (firmware: 3.20.8 Build 20221130 Rel.42340)

- I started getting "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts

- I found that an ethernet cable had mistakenly been connected from Switch A Port 6 to Switch A Port 8

- I removed the ethernet cable, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I connected my computer to port 6 and it worked perfectly, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I disconnected my computer from port 6, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I restarted Switch A, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I restarted the Omada Controller, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I changed the Switch A Port 6 profile to disabled, but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

- I reverted the Switch A Port 6 profile to “all", but new "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continued to be generated

100’s of these "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts continue to be generated whilst there is nothing connected to port 6 and I am unable to clear them.

Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

@d0ugmac1 Thanks for the reply and suggestion.

I put in a call to TP-Link Support yesterday and got a call back last night after my last post. After explaining what I had tried, their suggestion was pretty much the same as yours - forget, factory reset and (re)adopt. They also suggested unplugging all of the cabling from the switch and plugging it back in but I don't understand how that would work, especially as I had rebooted the switch. It was late so I didn't do anything else last night. I did however ask that this problem be reported to the Omada developers as a bug so they can fix it. TP-Link Support agreed that when a loopback issue is fixed, the alerts should immediately stop.

This morning I have logged back in and all of the alerts have now stopped! I don't know why or how as nothing was changed whilst I was asleep and port 6 remains disconnected. Whilst I am happy the problem is gone, I'm not sure how to fix this problem in the future if it happens again - other than go to sleep!

Over to you TP-Link!

@Jason_G I edited port 6 on Switch A as follows:

Devices > Switch A > Ports > Port 6 > Profile Overrides > Loopback Control = Off

Then about 1 hour later:

Devices > Switch A > Ports > Port 6 > Profile Overrides > Remove Overrides

The "Switch A's port Gi1/0/6 was blocked” alerts still continued to be generated

  @Jason_G

Default the switch via it's hardware reset button and re-Adopt in after hours window (~5min downtime)?
