Gateway Hardware Change

Hi all.

I have an already established network with an OC200, ER605, SG2008P, and some EAP660s.

I am using dual WAN with failover, and has 4 VLANs and other gateway related configurations like ACLs, VPN etc.

Question is how do I upgrade from my ER605 to my incoming ER7206 with minimal downtime?

Do I just forget then remove the old ER605 then connect everything to the new ER7206, adopt and everythng will be reconfigured like before?

Or do I need to connect the ER7206 to my existing network first then adopt it, then forget the ER605, then connect everything to the ER7206?

Has anyone tried this before or have a similar experience changing the gateway hardware?
