Model: EAP653
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20220921 Rel. 73428

I have some strange dehaviour going on with my Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen). Every time i plug it up to any of my 3 EAP635's I get high retried rates, but no drops. The Nest Hub uses 2ghz on band 3 ( I gave up with the 5Ghz as it cant detect the network ). I've tried diffrent bands and width but nothing seems to help. My interference on the channal reads 0% -> 1% and the unit is in a small room with the EAP ( Tried moving location to other EAP and does the same thing). It is working and not causing my any problems at present. Wanted to know if this is a normai report? You can see when i have the unit off/disconnected and all is green. Turn it on and climes to amber then red and stays there. Is this normal behaviour? Am i missing something?

3 x EAP653 v1 / 1.0.4 Build 20220921 Rel. 73428

No Switch!

Many Thanks.

Have you connected your Google Nest Hub to other 2.4G WiFi for testing? Same issue there?

If set a separate 2.4G SSID without password for this Google Nest Hub, will make it better?

I'm currently using PPSK without RADIUS i'll setup a seprate wifi SSID and try that. I'll get back when i have some results. Thanks for posting.

@TazDevilLooney I created a second SSID and left it on 2ghz & 5ghz. I gave it an hour and turned off the 5ghz and let it run. i even swapped it between EAP's to see it that did the trick to no avail.

Downstairs 66 EAP

D-Mapd-dropd-drop2

Upstairs EAP

up-apd-drop3drop-10

This is the only item on the AP at the time. Why would there be gaps in the data? The Google nest hub has not dropped a packet and functions fine. Any other items like firestick, phones ect can all get added and don't give this behavior. The problem being, if this is doing this and i leave it on how am i going to diagnose any other issues if this is interfering within the graph? For some unknown reasion it loves to connect to the downstairs AP were the mesh is. All EAP's are now on all the same 2ghz and 5ghz channel numbers and width so it has no preference. Why it likes picking that one when the upstairs EAP is 1 meter away and down stairs is 10 meters away eludes me.This is all the data i can think of posting. Any ideas i'm all ears.

Thanks.

You can turn down the radio coverage through choose the Low value for Tx power on specific EAP.
