Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.9

Hi folks,

I have a small home network setup.

The Omada controller is running in a Linux container.

I have an EAP225 ceiling mount AP and an EAP110 v4.0.

When I am connected to the EAP110, everything behaves as normal on my network.  I have 3 VLANS, (VLAN1 - the main LAN, VLAN 90 - A guest network and VLAN 91 for all things IOT).  This tells me that everything is setup correctly and all devices connect as they are supposed to on my network.

When I try to connect to the EAP225, I cannot connect to my main network (VLAN1).  It times out trying to obtain an IP address.  I find this very confusing as my EAP110 works fine on the exact same controller.

I have tried to RESET the EAP225 and rejoin it via the controller and also tried to hard reset it via the RESET hole on the device (10 seconds holding the button in) but the same issue persists.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

Thanks for your time.

Dear @dac88

On Controller SSID settings, HomeNet (VLAN 1 SSID) does not need to enable VLAN.

Dear  @dac88

What is the firmware of your EAP110? And what is the model number of your switch/router?

Please note old EAP110 firmware has a different VLAN working mechanism. See my post in this thread:

Omada Controller 5.8.4 VLAN Setup

If possible, please share us the VLAN settings of your switch/router, and SSID VLAN on your Omada controller. That information will help us figure out the issue

  @Hank21

Hi, thanks for your response.

The EAP110 is a version 4.0 on the 5.0.4 firmware.

I am using a pfSense router and a Netgear GS724T switch.

My setup was working perfectly until I could access the controller no longer and had to setup a new controller.

When I adopted the EAP225 on the new controller, my VLAN 1 config stopped working on the EAP225.

pfSense VLANs

vlan 90 - GuestNet

vlan 91 - IOTNet

Netgear VLANs

vlan 1 - Default - port 1-24,  untagged

vlan 90 - GuestNet - port 19-24, Tagged

vlan 91 - IOTNet - port 19-24, Tagged

Omada Controller

SSID info (with VLANs):

GuestNet - vlan 90

HomeNet - vlan 1

IOTNet - vlan92

This setup was working perfectly, on trying to adopt the EAP225 to the updated Omada controller, my VLAN 1 setup stopped working correctly.

Many thanks.
