Hi all,

Has anyone come across an issue where configuring DHCP Relay across VLANs works fine for most devices except IOS devices (iPhone/MacBooks)?

I have 4 SSIDs each with their own VLAN: VLAN1, VLAN20, VLAN30, VLAN40.

VLAN1: 10.1.10.0/24

VLAN20: 10.20.10.0/24

VLAN30: 10.30.10.0/24

VLAN40: 10.40.10.0/24

DHCP Server 10.1.10.21

Obviously, it works when I connect my iPhone to SSID/VLAN1 as the DHCP server is on the same subnet as the VLAN.

However, it fails when connecting to the other 3 VLANs.  Other devices are absolutely fine, the ONLY ones with problems are the IOS devices.

Is there something I missed configuring with IOS devices?

EDIT: I have an Omada OC200 configuring all my TP-Link devices.

Dear  @DeadFeet

We did not hear any similar feedback before.

Are you using the tp-link switch as the DHCP server? Or your server 10.1.10.21 is another device?

The switch has enabled DHCP Relay and you put in the DHCP server IP for all VLANs right?

If you set up a static IP on the Apple device, can it ping to the DHCP server and the gateway?

Please also confirm if there is any MAC filtering configured on your DHCP server. From what I know, Apple devices will auto enable Dynamic MAC address, so you can't limit them via wireless MAC address
