Hello,

I am quite new to the OMADA platform, but the TP Link switches did a good job last time, so I gave it a chance. My inventory lists at the moment:

  • Router ER7212PC, which uses an external Modem to connect to the internet.
  • Wifi Access Point EAP670...a quite big device

Here is my requirement and I am wondering, if I can do this with the OMADA platform:

  • I want to have two different Wifi SSID, one allowing Adds and one denying Adds by running something like PiHole or AdGuard
  • In the Addfree SSID, I want the devices devided into three separate groups:
    • Private devices (MacBooks, iPads, Printer, NAS)
    • Corporate devices (MacBook, Windows Laptop, iPad)
    • IoT stuff (Vacuum cleaner, Thermomix, all those type of devices)

Assigning one VLAN-ID to the Add-SSID is possible, I have found this option already.

For the Adds-free-SSID, I want the separation down based on the MAC addresses of the devices. By now, I have seen, that I can assign a static VLAN combined with a static IP. But then there's no need for a DHCP-Server anymore.

I know, that less sophisticated Switch do have this option, also from TP-Link according to there website.

I don't want to run an external RADIUS server, which might solve the problem. Internet/Wifi/NAS have to work and I don't want to run essential software on some extra Raspberry PI or Server or something.

Please give me hint, if you see this possible.
