Router change ER7206 in exchange for ER8411
Hello all,
I am planning to replace my ER7206 with an ER8411 and wanted to ask the community what the best way is.
How can I replace the devices 1:1 without losing my configuration or reconfigure the ISP settings?
Is there also a possibility as with a controller exchange that I can make a direct change?
As hardware controller I use an OC300.
The router has configured provider 1 on the SFP WAN, provider 2 on the WAN and provider 3 on the WAN/LAN1.
Thanks for your help.

If your local subnet is different from the default LAN of ER8411, it may cause the issue, so suggest you change the ER8411 LAN subnet to the one that you used currently.
Hope this can help you:

Delete old router, then add ER8411 in wired settings and follow the configuration wizard, then adopt ER8411, all settings is moved to new router.
I do this recently an no issue.
off cause do backup before start the job.

Hello,
I was afraid that there will be problems, so I thought I ask here in advance.
I had here all the time a ER7206 together with a Vodafone and a Telekom connection. The configuration was such that the Telekom connection had a higher priority in load balancing than the Vodafone connection. Therefore port forwardings were solved via the Vodafone connection. So surfing via Telekom, services via Vodafone.
All this worked without any problems.
Now I tried to reproduce this on the ER8411.
First Internet over Port 1 (Vodafone) Portforwarding, all services from outside reachable
OK.
Now as soon as I set up the Telekom connection (port 3), my port releases for the Vodafone connection are no longer reachable. (When trying to set a static route (port 1 to NAS), the router loses the connection and tries to re-adopt itself, but without success. I have to reset and re-adopt the device to do this.
What I actually want:
Internet Vodafone (Port1) 1G
Internet Telekom (Port3) 1G
Uplink LAN (Port2) 10G
Load balancing 2:1 for Telekom:Vodafone
Port sharing external via Vodafone 80+443 for local reverse proxy.
The 3rd port I talked about in my opening post has fallen away, this was previously a backup via LTE and is no longer needed.
Unfortunately, even after the 4th attempt, I am not able to recreate the previous configuration on the exact device.
I suspect that this is a bug in the software.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Thorsten

it doesn't surprise me if there is something wrong with the software, if the router wizard doesn't work, you have to do the whole job manually, if necessary contact tp-link support for help.
I only had 1 wan port on my setup but I changed to an ER8411 it went very well, everything worked as it should afterwards.

Hello,
This is very annoying. I like the TP-Link products very much and have a considerable setup here by now. However, it annoys me that when you switch to a higher product, you don't get the same quality as a router that costs less than half as much. Also, with each update more and more bugs are added.
I will write to the support,
thank you very much

I understand your frustration, but after being in the IT game for 20 years... I learned not to buy the new hotness when it 1st drops. Every vendor suffers this, its not just TPLINK. Ive had this happen to me with Cisco Products.
