I have 2 TPL Omada-capable EAP's on my Wifi network (2.4 and 5/6Ghz bands are on separate SSID's). Both are connected to a PoE+ TL-SG2210P v5.0 gig switch, and both show full 1000Mbps negotiation speeds with the same switch. However, on my EAP670, my clients only reach 95-100Mbps over the Wifi network, while clients connected to the EAP610 Outdoor AP reach 500Mbps+ (depending on range). I have a 1Gbps symmetrical fiber WAN connected to the network. 

 

Why is the EAP670 capping WLAN speeds on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz to 100Mbps? I just upgraded the firmware to v1.0.6 and that didn't make a difference. The EAP670 is connected via fully tested, fully working Cat6 cable, about 6-ft long to the PoE+ TL-SG2210P v5.0 switch. This is NOT a cable issue. Everything else on the network that is not connected to the EAP670 as a client, sees speeds from 500Mbps-1Gbps. 

 

Note when I had JUST the EAP610 outdoor AP connected to the LAN without the EAP670 device on the network, my Wifi speeds were 500Mbps+ on 5Ghz clients. Now that the EAP670 has been added, the speeds across the entire WLAN are capped at under 100Mbps. 

 

The EAP's and TPL Switches are being managed by Omada.

There is a high probability that the port negotiation has some trouble, the port rate has only been negotiated to 100M.

 

Suggest check if the port on the switch connected to the EAP is negotiated to 1G.
If not, it is recommended to force the switch to negotiate to 1G on this port.

 

The easiest way to test the rate between the EAP and the client is using Iperf:

I noticed if I hook my 670 up to a bummy switch... the 2.5G port has a hard time negotiating down to 1G and bottoms out at 100mbps.  

 

Once I plug it up to a managed switch, it negotiates to 1G fine.

 

In your case, could be a bad NIC on the AP.

I found the culprit - brand new EAP670 v1.0 (running firmware 1.0.6) connected to a 3rd party switch. It is negotiating at 100Mbps. The other EAP670 is connected at 1000Mbps full duplex, as well as every other device on the network. The only difference is that this particular EAP670 is going through a 3rd party switch.

  @Virgo I found the culprit. One of the EAP670 AP's is negotiating at 100mbps. It is connected through a 3rd party switch. I connected another device to that same switch (a laptop) and it negotiated at 1000mbps, using the same cat6 patch cable. 

 

How can I force the EAP670 to negotiate at 1000Mbps full duplex through Omada? The switch it's connected to is NOT Omada controlled.

Good point...I moved the EAP670, to a wall jack connected directly to a TP-Link managed smart switch, negotiated no problem to 1000Mbps. What's frustrating is every other device I plug into that 3rd party Gigabit switch (ASUS) negotiates at 1000Mbps, only the EAP670 refuses to negotiate at that speed on that particular switch. Problem resolved by moving the EAP670 to another wall jack that is home-run to the TP-Link managed switch. Doesn't appear to be a hardware problem, but rather an over-zealous negotiation mechanism used by the EAP670's 2.5Gbe port. The other odd issue is that the EAP670 would sometimes negotiate at 1000mbps on that switch for 5 minutes or so, then drop back down to 100Mbps.
