EAP653(EU) require factory reset every time SG3428MP switch firmware is updated
It seems that every time I do a firmware update on my SG3428MP switch, both of my connected EAP653 APs fail to reconnect to the Omada controller.
They seem to go from "Disconnected" to "Provisioning", then back to "Disconnected". It's really getting annoying now.
The only way to fix it is to factory reset the EAPs, which means I then need to readopt them and re-address them.
Anyone know of a permanent fix?
Kevin

Hello,
I have the same problems with the EAP653 and the TL-SG3428MP. Even if I upgrade other switches, like the TL-SG2008P, the EAP653 is always in a adopt loop and has to be reset. And that's with every firmware update. Very annoying.

Wow, exactly the same here! Thought I was only one!!
Upgraded eap last night, no issues. Then upgraded my 2008 switch that the eap is connected to and now it's constantly cycling disconnected/provisioning
Update: reset and adopt fixed, only takes few mins but still annoying.

Same issue here. Not only after a Switch Firmware upgrade. But also a reboot of the switch make a EAP653 Disconnected.
As these are ceiling mounted devices, it is hard to reset the device.

Hi @JoostvdL,
Sorry that you have the same problem. I also have APs mounted on the ceiling and they are as you say hard to reset.
Unfortunately I think it will be a long time before a solution comes. Since the beginning of the year I am in contact with TPlink and unfortunately I still have not received a final solution. Requests for new firmware or a date to fix the problem was also not answered.
Such a quality for a business product is pretty disappointing. Perhaps it is better to switch to the other big manufacturers...

Same thing happened to me earlier this week.
A SG2008P upgrade got my EAP653(EU) in a disconnected state.
Tried to reboot the switch, update the controller and cycle the POE. It got my nowhere and i am left with no Wifi in the house while being away. However a part of my smarthome devices is wifi based.... leaving me without control.
I am a bit disappointed, to say the least...
