- Easier deployment
- Less space and more flexible in installation
- Lower cost
- Maintains flexibility
6. Product Comparison
(1) TCP packet forwarding performance comparison (Static IP)
The one-way TCP performance of ER7212PC under Static IP dial-up is comparable to ER605 v2, the two-way TCP performance is slightly better than ER605 v2, and the two-way performance of dual LAN/WAN is better than ER605 v2.
(2) TCP packet forwarding performance comparison (DHCP)
The one-way TCP performance of ER7212PC under DHCP dialing is comparable to ER605 v2, the two-way TCP performance is slightly inferior to ER605 v2, and the two-way performance of dual LAN/WAN is better than ER605 v2.
(3) VPN performance comparison
ER7212PC supports IPSec VPN, OpenVPN, PPTP/L2TP and other VPN types, and supports SHA1 and SHA2 encryption algorithms. The IPSec VPN performance of ER7212PC is lower than ER605 v2, but the performance of PPTP、L2TP VPN and OpenVPN is better than ER605 v2. Hello Fae,
Thanks for your feedback related to the new ER7212PC batch with adapted cords which will not intend to loose anymore.
Do you have some serial numbers from which we can recognize the new batch without the current connector issue?
Thanks.

Hi Guys,
After dozens power cable disconnections, I found 5 cent solution. R-Type cable clamp works perfectly. Hope this will help ;)

I had the 7212 and returned it immediately as it's super slow, the built-in controller cannot be deactivated and the so-called 'switch' in it wasn't a real switch as I couldn't assign profiles to the ports (but this behaviour has changed now, months later).
All in all a very negative experience.
Then I went for 7206 and I am super happy with it - wayyy better performance, but it's also logic as it is a pure router.
If you're looking for some real horsepower then either go for 8411 or if this is overkill then wait for the shortly available 707-M2:

@Hank21 Will these be getting the DNS caching feature just released in the latest controller update?

There needs to be a way to adopt this into a cloud controller. The rest of the features are great (ER605 + 4-Port PoE Switch) but the controller is slow and we've got a well established Cloud Management Controller setup already that we would like to adopt this into.
