RE: AP MODE MAX DISTANCE
Hello,
Setting up a P2MP network using WBS510 + TL-ANT5819MS with connecting clients CPE510 and CPE610/710.
Would like to know the max distance in AP mode. Did some searching with no luck. Maybe someone here has answers.
The base station is only visible to about 20-30 meters!
Faulty antenna or base station? or both?
TIA

Could be settings issue, what Transmit power did you choose?
It can be found on the WBS510 Wireles settings page.

transmit power is set to maximum. put up a cpe510 on the same pole a feet below and was able to connect a cpe610 at 1.16km away with no issues.
something is definitely wrong with WBS510 + TL-ANT-5819MS. its transmitting like a home router only visible to a few meters
who or what could be causing this issue?
TP-LINK support is unreliable

Maybe the antenna is not installed correctly? Try unplugging the TL-ANT-5819MS and checking if there is any difference on the SSID signal. Perhaps the antenna is just not taking effect.

I'm a bit bothered when you said that the antena is not yet taking effect. It's strange to comprehend from a product that you expect to work right out of the box. I made sure that the connections are tight as it is not easy bringing down a 20foot pole on top a 130 foot hill. I also took the average calculation of the down tilt to ensure that the clients can achieve at least 95% visibility on the base station.
TP-LINK support is still struggling to comprehend the situation.
