Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

With the 610 Outdoor supporting Wifi 6 and multiple SSID (8 per band), is it possible to configure a second SSID on the 610 that is only 6ghz? I have looked through Omada controller and I know I can create wifi groups and then put each EAP into that group, but I do not see how you assign multiple SSID and designate what band to use on that SSID.

  @RickJamesBish

Yes, you can do that, check this, only enable 6G.

Huh?

The EAP610 Outdoor does not support 6 GHz (aka Wifi-6E)

https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-networking/omada-sdn-access-point/eap610-outdoor/#specifications

It does support Wifi-6 (602.11ax) on 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.

I believe the only TP-Link Omada product which is currently support 6GHz is the new EAP690E.

This is most likely a bug in the Omada software as 6GHz functionality was only recently added to the GUI.

@JSchnee21 yes I think you are correct. It is confusing to see 6Ghz as an option. I did connect a laptop that supports wifi 6 to it and it shows as 602.11ax and connects to either the 2.4 or 5ghz of the EAP610.

So I guess my question still remains, but slightly modified. Can I setup two SSID on the EAP610, one having 2.4 + 5ghz, and the other having just 5ghz and then have a client connect to only the SSID that is 5ghz?

@Virgo Yes I was aware of being able to that, but once I have created that, how do I set it as the second SSID of the EAP610?
