TL-SG2008 configuration local network server ip cameras
Hello,
I am new to managed switches, but IT competent, and have some questions on the best way to configure the TL-SG2008 for my home network.
I have a Synology server as a NAS, two ip cameras, a few pc's and printers, and my TV connected to the network.
I have been experiencing some disconnects from my ip cameras, possibly a broadcast storm, and it was suggested that I use a switch instead of a hub to help isolate the devices while providing access between pc's and the NAS to fix the problem.
My ISP provided router is a ZTE-H288A with VOIP. The ISP assigns VOIP, and the Firewall is enabled.
Network ip's are setup as 192.168.xxx.xxx / subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
TL-SG2008 CONFIGURATION
VLAN is set to 1 by default I assume on this switch.
I enabled L2 features such as Port config, loopback detection.
On the System Unit1 page, should I make changes to any of these:
Jumbo Frame: Disabled
SNTP: Disabled
IGMP Snooping: Enabled assumed necessary for media / video of ip cameras
SNMP: Enabled by default
Spanning Tree: Disabled
DHCP Relay: Disabled
802.1X: Disabled
QOS - Port Priority Config
Should I being using this?
When I click on unit 1 all ports, I see a drop down for 802.1p priority and trust mode.
QOS - Bandwidth Control - Storm control
Again, when I click on unit 1 all ports, I see various entries and drop downs.
I am not sure but it was suggested that my ip camera problem may have to do with this.
I look forward to your help and suggestions.
