non-PoE switch powered by PoE-splitter
Hi guys.
Since last week I´ve used a SG1005P to power my three Raspberry Pi4.
Because of using four Pi Zero around my house I decided to use PoE and save power supplies.
But I also want to save the power supply for the switch.
I´ve bought a 1008PE for my rack and mount the 1005P outside for powering my Zero´s.
I´ve tried to power the 1005P with a splitter and the network cable coming from the 1008PE, but I wasn´t able to power on the switch.
Maybe I misunderstand the way how PoE works, but in this case the switch 1008PE uses endspan and a voltage of 51,7 volts. I´ve measure it with a tester.
But why I cannot power on the 1005P with a splitter ?
Thanks in advance, Thorsten
